Who we are
This website is run by Swaye Electrical Services Ltd, trading as Swaye Group, Unit CF16, Redlake Trading Estate, Ivybridge, PL21 0EZ. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us about anything in it at info@swayegroup.com, by phone on 01752 200496, or by post at the address above.
What we collect
- Quote requests: your name, phone number, email address and postcode, your preferred time for us to contact you, your answers about the job (for example the type of work, property and roof details), any notes you add, and whether you’ve asked to hear about offers and news.
- Job applications (careers form): your name, phone number, email address, postal address (if given), the role you’re interested in and the details you send us about your experience and availability.
- When you call or email us: your contact details and whatever you tell us about your enquiry.
Please don’t send us more personal information than we need to deal with your enquiry or application.
Why we use it
- To deal with your enquiry: to contact you, arrange a survey, prepare an estimate and, if you go ahead, carry out and certify the work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and then performing that contract.
- To consider your job application and contact you about it. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract of employment.
- To send you offers and news, only if you’ve ticked the optional box. Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any message.
- To keep records we are legally required to keep, such as certificates, invoices and accounts. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for anything unrelated to your enquiry or application.
Who we share it with
Your details are seen only by the Swaye team and by service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host, email provider and customer records system. They may only use it on our instructions. Where the work needs it, we may share relevant details with bodies such as the electricity network operator or certification schemes, for example to register an installation. We may also share information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. If you become a customer, we keep job, certificate and invoice records for as long as the law and our certification schemes require. Job applications are kept only for as long as needed to consider your application, unless you agree to us keeping them for future roles. Marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask us to transfer it, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. To use any of these rights, email info@swayegroup.com. We’ll reply within one month.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we’ll update this notice and ask for your consent where needed.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
